More edgy than cute, yet more upbeat than rock, the music of Tizzy Bac is maybe best described as eclectic, melodic, keyboard-led indie-pop with a dose of sparkly electronica and pensive cheer, expressing wry 20-something musings about life, love and music, among other things.
The Taiwanese trio of keyboards, bass and beats has been playing gigs and making music since 1999, in between swotting for university exams and performing at music festivals. These have included Taiwan's Spring Scream , Formoz Festival ,Simple Life and Japan's Fuji Rock Festival 2005.
The band has released two EPs and, most recently, a well-received compilation album Tizzy Bac: Unplugged (2007), in addition to two wholly-original albums - Anything Can Tempt Me (2003) and the multi-award-winning It's All My Fault (2006). From both, songs like the cheery Madam Puss in Boots, the moody Sideshow Bob and melodic You'll See have received substantial airplay on Taiwanese radio and won the trio a large cult fanbase. It
Tizzy Bac is Chen Hui Ting (piano, vocals, keyboards, melodica), Hsu Chu Yu (bass) and Lin Chien Yuan (drums). In this concert, visual projections blend with the trio's music to create a multi-sensorial experience.
