WaySoon plays a refreshing and exciting Newgrass mix of upbeat Country and foot-stompin’ Old-timey music served with a side of Celtic rock and a dash of Blues to keep the party hopping. The band’s modern approach to interpreting the Country and Bluegrass genres gives it a universal appeal to all those who enjoy a good time, whether a Country fan or not. Put simply – this is down-home music that rocks.

Featuring traditional folk instruments such as mandolin, ukulele and banjo reeling over the driving rhythms of bass, guitar and drums - the uplifting arrangement is rounded out by the soaring hillbilly harmonies of WaySoon’s five talented singers; all of whom also take turns singing lead with their own distinctive voices. You can expect to see audience members singing along to some of their Country favorites and/or getting up out of their seats to stomp, jig and swing their partners. To further broaden its appeal to local audiences, the band does their own renditions of a few Taiwanese and Mandarin classics that never fail to get an immediate enthusiastic response from the local crowd who are charmed by the western version of their cultural relics.

WaySoon has been attracting attention across Taiwan – delighting local and foreign audiences alike at pubs, festivals, shopping malls, cultural, corporate, and charity events. Some notable events that WaySoon has had the privilege of performing at include the Hengchuan International Folk Music Festival, Kaohsiung World Games, Lugu Tea Farmers' Fair , Compass Magazine Food & Music Festival, Taipei International Food and Packaging Show.

In tribute to the culture of the island on which this band was born, the name WaySoon is the phonetic translation of the Mandarin term 微醺 (wei xun), which connotes the feeling of being lightly and happily intoxicated. And that’s exactly how you’ll feel after a night of gettin’ yer hoedown on with this thrilling band from Taiwan.
