I mentioned last a few weeks back that we would be mixing an album for the Indie Rock band the TIC TAC.

I had met them last year when we played a show with them and Godswounds and I was instanty a fan


They put on a fantastic show and were wonderful people as well. Over the last half year or so we have been talking and preparing for the final recordings and mix. We began that in earnest this week.

When 小茶 gave me the tracks for the first mix I was more than a little taken back. The tracking total was 93 tracks...


A huge opus with string sections, piano, guitar, drums, solo cellos, violin solos and a wall of fuzz guitar... Think Smashing Pumpkins circa Siamese Dream.

The rough mix was a mess and had such horrible phasing and comb filtering that half the song was missing and the other half was squished into a flat lifeless mess, none the less I could hear the fucking raw power and beauty of this song begging to be set free.


After a few more recording sessions to get some extra fuzz guitars and noize tracks I sit in front of a session with a total of 123 tracks and after the first completed mix playback I am completely blown away by this song. I actually have goosebumps.


Tic TAc are arguably one of the coolest Indie bands in Taiwan. This E.P. is a passionate heart felt explosion of raw emotion power and fuzz guitar. Expect big things from them....
