The world is a dark, gloomy place but underneath it all there is a undeniable, essential beauty keeping things in order and all hope alive. This may not be facts, but listening to Vadadis debut album will inevitably evoke such images. The music within is harsh, raw and epic, but at the same time warm, rich and melodic; a journey of sorts, exploring almost every emotion known to man.

These are the true facts, mind you: VADADI is a Stockholm, Sweden based one man band (named after it’s sole member Robert Vadadi), formed in 2007 and driven by a desire to express, explore or achieve certain emotions, and offer something more to dream of. The self titled album was recorded in July and released in September 1, 2008 by Rap Sheet Records and contains nine stunning songs, where personality, melody, emotions, freedom and beauty of creating epic music without any particular rules to fit in, creates a sum that’s bigger than it’s individual parts. ”Music is a medium”, says Robert Vadadi. ”These songs are meant to be for no one, but still for the world, and is based on personal revealings and charged takes that gives depth and versality rather than perfect takes”.

Call it shoegaze, emo or indie, if you will – Vadadis debut is a revelation, a beautiful glimpse of a personal vision that leads you like a beacon of light to the heart of darkness and back again. After all, darkness cannot exist without the light, and Vadadis gaze is always firmly lifted to the skies. And therein lies the beauty, and the strength of his music.
